Stock monitoring and measurement
Areas we monitor and measure as part of our service are:
Temperature
Some products stored in bulk can self-heat and even spontaneously combust, for example, wood chips and wood pellets. To help prevent this, we continuously conduct stock monitoring methods. We use portable temperature probes, heat guns and FLIR cameras, which provide thermal and infrared imaging. We also use wireless probes that measure temperatures and levels of combustible gases that products produce in small quantities when the self-heating processes start to occur.
Our temperature monitoring (TEMO) services are offered for many cargoes. Data collected from the probes is sent to our web server automatically and can be accessed by customers in a password-protected environment.
Quality
During storage, we monitor a range of issues, such as:
- assessing and acting upon the risk of contamination,
- storage of different products,
- appropriateness of mutual distances and/or segregation measures,
- and the presence of dangerous materials that could affect your cargo.
Quantity
We have an established track record, gained over 15 years of conducting stockpile inventory services for international clients across a wide range of commodities (including coal, minerals and biomass).
“We are pioneers in offering faster, safer and more accurate stockpile inspections and volume calculations, performed by using drones.”
Our surveyors are trained and experienced in performing independent stockpile measurement using a total station to determine the volume of the stockpile. We are also able to determine the density of the cargo using special equipment that is used to calculate the overall tonnage of the stockpiles.
