Organic Auditor, Quality Assurance Officer, Program Manager

Business unit: Certifications – Control Union Hungary

What are you currently working on at Control Union?
Currently, I am mainly involved in complex organic certification projects for larger clients, while also conducting audits worldwide according to 19 different standards. In the Hungarian office, I hold the role of QAO (Quality Assurance Officer), and I am also the program manager for Control Union’s own Non-GMO standard.

What do you find most exciting about your role, and what challenges does it involve?
The biggest challenge is continuous learning and keeping knowledge up to date. We work in a regulatory and standards-driven environment where requirements are strict and frequently changing. Managing this broad scope of knowledge requires strong dedication.

If a group of 10-year-old children asked you what you do, what would you tell them?
My job is to make sure that the food we buy in stores follows the rules and is safe to consume. To do this, I travel to farms and factories to see how products are made and check that everything is done properly from the producer all the way to the store.
This is what an auditor does.

What has your time at Control Union given you professionally and personally?
One of the greatest values of this job is the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people and cultures. This not only expands our professional network but also gives us a much broader perspective on the world.
Professionally, my problem-solving skills have developed the most—whether it’s dealing with canceled flights, visa issues, or cultural differences. I have learned that there is no unsolvable situation or task. In addition, I have gained a high level of flexibility and adaptability.

What advice would you give to a new team member or someone interested in joining?
Be open-minded, persistent, and hardworking. In return, you will become part of a supportive, positive, and cheerful team.

What would you say to yourself when you first joined the company?
Be patient with yourself—it’s a learning process. You are capable of anything, just believe in yourself.

How would you describe your time here in five words?
Challenging, yet joyful learning.

How would you describe the Control Union Hungary team and team spirit?
I have worked in many different workplaces, but this is the first where I truly feel at home. Although we all have different strengths and skills, we form a well-functioning, dynamic team.
The atmosphere is always positive, and I often feel like I’m working with friends—which adds a lot to everyday work.
